Apple releases battery fix
Remember the battery problems plaguing the newly released iPhone 4S? Remember how Apple promised they were working on an update that would see the poor battery life remedied? Well wait in suspense no more, Apple has sent out it's first update to iOS 5, 5.0.1- aimed to sort out a few of issues with the initial release; as promised the update bridges the gap between Siri and our Australian friends, it also enables gesture application switching on the original iPad. Bugs with document syncing, via iCloud, have also been addressed. Interestingly this is the first update to be available OTA (over the air for you iPhone users who've never handled any other mobile OS), in a 44.6MB delta download- that's a download that only contains the changes to code, rather than the (comparatively) huge 790 MB download via iTunes. iPhone, and iPad users, can access the software update panel of the settings app to access the download, under the general tab. Here are a few snapshots of the proccess.
Let us know how this update pans out for you, does it make any difference? Were you disappointed with the iPhone's battery life? As usual, take a look at our twitter, and our Facebook! Oh, and Google+. Tags: Untagged
