Apple still working on fix for iPhone 4S battery
iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S still plagued by battery issues?
Apple’s recently released iOS 5.0.1 update was expected to solve the battery issues facing many iPhone users – looks like it hasn’t quite done that. We reported that Apple had released the first OTA (over the air) update to address the problem, but we’d heard from some that there was still a battery-draining bug – our own phones have been suffering. AllthingsD received word from Apple on the problem. The statement follows: “The recent iOS software update addressed many of the battery issues that some customers experienced on their iOS 5 devices. “We continue to investigate a few remaining issues.” – it looks like the fight against poor battery life isn’t over yet. A few weeks ago, the Guardian reported that Apple’s engineers were contacting some iPhone 4S users in an attempt to try and solve the battery-life issue. However, it seems this hasn’t helped. Apple customers, coming to their own conclusion, decided that Location Services may be to blame. To play around with Location Services head into your phone’s Settings -> Location Services -> System Services (at the bottom) -> and Setting Time Zone. Deactivating this will hopefully lift this cumbersome plight from your beleaguered iPhone. Ofcourse, there are a lucky few that haven’t reported any issues at all – it looks as though some of you have been lucky enough to escape this energy-plight. If you’re one of the fortunate few, we’d like to hear from you. We’ll allow you to run it in and around our face. Make sure to head to Facebook, Twitter of Google+ to do so.
