UPDATE!
Apple updates MacBook Pro range
Apple’s just bumped the specs of its successful MacBook Pro notebook range.
Apple has quietly rolled out a few minor updates to its MacBook Pro notebooks, now showing in its online store. The line has seen a most-welcome adoption of Intel’s Sandy Bridge chips, but this hasn’t changed the price – the selection still starts at an awesome £999. Wee-baby The 13-inch model, the baby of the group, now ships with a 2.4GHz i5 processor, a minor improvement on the 2.3GHz offered in the previous model. You also get the standard 500GB hard disk drive, the same as the previous release. There’s also a 2.8GHz 13-inch offering that’s loaded with an Intel i7 chip. Both variants ship with 4GB RAM, but the i7 version boasts an improved 750GB HDD, but this will set you back a tidy £1,299. The bigger brother, by two inches, has also been given a little boost. Both 15-inch models now pack an Intel i7 processor – the lower-end model comes in at 2.2GHz with a 500GB HDD, while the other clocks 2.4GHz with a 750GB HDD. The cheaper model is still a pocket-melting £1,549, while the other is even more at £1,849. The 17-inch received an even small update – it runs the sames specs as the high-end 15-inch model but has a larger screen. You can get your hands on one for just £2,099. Greater Graphics The 13inch models now come with a new Intel HD Graphics 3000 card for throwing those perfect-polygonal graphics at your face. The 2.2 and 2.4GHz 15 inch variants also receive an update, with AMD Radeon HD 6750M and 6770M graphics, respectively – the 17-inch daddy ships with the same specs as the high-end 15-inch. Meow All of the new lines arrive with OS X Lion straight out of the box, and are available for purchase now. Is this enough of an update? Are you getting tired of the MacBook Pro design?
