Energizer, battery manufacturer (among other things), is giving back to the nation’s brave servicemen and women – we all have the power to give.

Energizer, the big name behind disposable batteries, has pledged to donate £100,000 to Help for Heroes. Energizer wants to make a positive impact, and hopes that you’ll join them as they give to this most worthy cause.

The company is hoping to donate this hefty sum with your help – with every pack of promotional batteries purchased; Energizer will donate 5 pence to the charity pot.

You can keep an eye on how much they’ve raised here. You can also add 5p to the kitty by simply ‘liking’ Energizer’s Facebook Page – everyone can make a difference, please take the time to help!

Everest Base Camp Expedition

Energizer is also sponsoring wounded Lance Corporal, Jonathon Le Galloudec, as he attempts to make the climb to Everest Base Camp.

Jonathan was injured in 2007 after sustaining a gunshot to his spine which subsequently left him partially paralysed. An inspiration to others, he has continued to push himself despite doctors telling him he will never walk again.

Jonathan has continued to push himself and to that end he, and his father Steve, will endeavour to scale to the lofty heights of Everest’s Base Camp in November 2011.

Jonathan isn’t just doing it for himself, he wants to stand as a positive beacon to those who have also suffered.

“I really just want to raise awareness of the need for the public’s continued support for our country’s wounded soldiers.

“Also, if I can inspire even one wounded soldier to realise that being injured doesn’t mean you have to stop living or doing the things you love, then I’ve done my job.” You can find out more of his tradgic experience over at GQ.com.

The climb will take place over 19 days from the 4th of November. He will travel a backbreaking 75 miles until he reaches the grand altitude of 17,560 feet.

Check out the video below to get a taste of Jonathan’s epic journey to the top of the world.

Energizer is taking charge with it’s ‘Be a Hero’ campaign, and wants everyone to make a positive difference, no matter how big or small. If you can find the spare change, please give to Jonathan. Every penny brings him closer to his total – go on, make a difference.

Don’t forget to like Energizer’s page to donate 5p to the Help for Heroes fund.
