UPDATE!
Google Buzz to die at the hand of Google Plus
Google's killing off Google Buzz -- but did anyone use it?
![]() Do you remember Google Buzz? Probably not.
Well we do, it was the controversial social network that launched with 150 million users- instantly, but drew them all from your Gmail account; yes. Ouch.
Contrary to popular belief, the service is still running- despite being usurped by Google's latest venture, Google+.
Unfortunately it's less-than-popular existence is to be dusted under the mat following Google's announcement that it will be closing the twitter-like service in the next two weeks.
Fear not avid Buzzers, for you will not lose your postings; upon your next login to Gmail you will notice a note at the top of the page explaining that Buzz will be going away; following this notification you will find that your postings will still be available on your Google Profile. Should you be still be concerned over the safety of your precious ramblings feel free to use Google Takeout.
Google+ was recently estimated to have around 25million users -- 10 million of these joined the network when it was still in the closed testing stage. The network is a strong contender against facebook, and has many features that Facebook lacks.
In other news, the search giant also announced that it would begin rolling out tighter integration between it's young social network, Google+, and Youtube, which requires no introduction.
The changes include a new Youtube 'tab' based on the main Google+ profile page, allowing users to quickly search for online content- and, very speedily we must say, creates a playlist based upon the search term. In our testing it was a very easy to use and accurate feature, but we'll let you decided that.
In addition you can '+1' any video in the newly created playlist, sharing it with your Google+ friends -- don't forget you can +1 our blog too... we know you want to.
