Pictures of the new BlackBerry have been leaked – we like (read on for the picture).

The Verge has gotten hold of a snap of the new phone that’s been dubbed the BlackBerry London (picture follows).

This new phone is said to be the first RIM smartphone to run it’s new BBX operating system and, as we said, has been called the London.

It’s important to note, before you get too excited, that this phone’s not official and may just be a prototype. However – a pretty big however – BGR reports that is has received word, from a trusted source, that claims this is a genuine product being developed by BlackBerry and it should see a release towards the end of next year.

The phone is allegedly thinner than the iPhone 4 and 4S, with dimensions akin to those of the Samsung Galaxy S2. The front of the phone is dominated by a 3.7 inch touchscreen, framed by two silver-metal strips.

The phone is unlike any other previously released by RIM, but could this be the Canadian phone manufacturers’ much-needed lifeline?

Under the hood

The operating system is a derivation from the OS used for the BlackBerry Playbook and, as such, we’d expect to see a relatively powerful processor to manage it.

Rumours are claiming that this little beauty will house a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of memory and 16GB of internal storage.

The camera, often the downfall of most BlackBerry phones, will boast an 8-megapixel resolution. There’s also a front facing camera with a resolution of 2-megapixels.

What do you think of the device? Is it beautiful, or down-right ugly? Let us know below or hit us up on Facebook, Twitter, or Google+. You know the drill.
