Poor iPhone battery life to be remedied
Many iPhone 5 adoptees have had terrible luck with their battery life, but has Apple got a fix?
A significant portion of iPhone 4S adoptees are reporting that the standby battery life of their iPhone falls short of the 200 hours Apple touts. AllthingsD have recieved a statement from Apple that confirms 'bugs' in the iOS 5 software. 'A small number of customers have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices', adding 'we have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks'. Many suspect the new notifications or location services to be the main bane of the battery- with many support forum postings giving their own D.I.Y fixes to the problem. Rumor has it iOS 5.0.1 will fix the accent barrier between Siri and Australian users, patch security flaws and of course solve the battery problem that has plagued some devices; amongst other fixes. Engadget and 9to5mac also report that the new update will fix the iPad Smart Cover security concern- whereby anyone wanting to access a locked iPad could simply attach a Smart Cover and it would, worryingly, unlock without requesting a passcode.
