There's a rumble in the distance... What is it? Hordes of HP Pre 3 fans running to their wallets.

UPDATE!

In the last few hours the Palm eurostore has announced they may soon take stock of the HP Pre 3 after all.

All in the hand

British hopefuls may be slightly put off by the fact the beast will be adorned with an AZERTY keyboard- not overly dissimilar to the more popular QWERTY keyboard layout most are familiar with.

"Update Wed 7th Sep 20:00 :
Palm Eurostore is pleased to announce that we expect to be in a position to offer the HP Pre 3 AZERTY model ( FB436AA#ABF ) for sale very soon - hopefully before the end of this week. You'll forgive us if we take just a little more time to ensure we are 100% confident we will be in a position to fulfill all expectations in relation to orders placed."

The phone appears for the discounted price of £169.99 in contrast to the (currently priced) £299.00 QWERTY device.

Internally the phones are identical, we have questioned HP regards software keyboards- QWERTY fans may be able to install and use a QWERTY touch keyboard if they so wish, but we're still waiting to hear back from HP/Palm on this.

As usual, we will do our best to keep you up to date on the progress of this story.

Update: according to HP/Pre customer support, there is no Virtual Keyboard on this WebOS device. However, recently posted to Youtube, this video tells another tale.

Evidently it is possible to 'unlock' the hidden virtual keyboard found in previous WebOS devices with some tinkering.

Update:

HP Pre 3, ah such a tumultuous journey we've been on. The AZERTY HP Pre 3 is now sold out until further notice.

Isn't this just a little ironic?

Just to let you know that HP has WebOS users covered. They're offering a refund of the difference between current sale prices and what you paid if you were an early adopter. The catch? You need to have registered your WebOS device before the 23rd of August.
